Snowflake Alphabet & FREEbies!

I’m SO excited to introduce my Snowflake Preschool Alphabet Center!  This is a really cute and festive way to swing back into winter learning after a long Christmas break.  It’s for purchase at my TPT store, but I’m offering a couple of FREEbies at the end of this post!  Keep scrolling to see what’s inside!

Snowflake Letter Formation Mats

I created the letter formation mats as an introduction to writing the alphabet.  Students use their fingers to trace the letters by following the numbered arrows.  Next, set them out with mini winter erasers (mine are from the dollar bins at Target), buttons, or beads and let students form the letters with the manipulatives you provide.

Snowflake Tracers

Once your preschooler is familiar with using his/her fingers to trace the alphabet, you can present the snowflake tracers on a tray.  I laminated our snowflake tracers and set them out (6 at a time) with a crayola washable dry erase marker.

Snowflake Letter Match

The Snowflake letter match unit is a great way for preschoolers to learn the sets of uppercase and lowercase letters.

Snowflake Phonics Match

The Snowflake Phonics Match cards can be used in many ways.  Present them in a basket with magnetic letters or with either the uppercase or lowercase letter match cards in the packet.  Students match the picture, on the snowflake, with the letter that makes the same starting sound.

When working with my preschooler, I try to set out a tray with a workable amount of letters.  This amount will vary from child to child.  Throughout this post, Parker worked on the first six letters of the alphabet (A-F).  Once your preschooler has finished a set of letters,  you can follow up with one of our Snowman Phonics Worksheets.  You can use bingo markers, dot paint or crayons to match the picture to the same starting sound.

Once your preschooler has completed the entire phonics set, you can follow up with our Snowflake Phonics Match worksheet (pictured below).  I presented the worksheet with bingo markers and the entire set of phonics cards, but I forgot to take a picture (sorry).

  1. This is adorable! What a fun way to get back into the learning after Christmas break. I love the winter theme and how all inclusive this pack is. I can’t wait for Hunter to get started with this phonics pack.
