Geometry – 3D Carrot Shapes

It’s bunny and carrot season again. This week I decided to have the kids make 3D carrot shapes as a spring-themed geometry lesson.

I set out a 3D Carrot Shapes Tray in our Learning Lane. I included pipe cleaner carrot tops, orange play dough, and 3D shape cards.

Haley worked on the basic 3D shapes as well as the more difficult prisms.

The boys did a great job making the basic 3D shapes.

Haley made all her shapes and even used the remaining dough to create a bunny!

They had so much fun with this activity! There’s nothing quite like a hands-on math lesson.
