This week was a bit topsy-turvy as we had on-campus MAP testing. We covered as much ground as possible, given our restricted schedule.
BIBLE:
Memory Verse:
We continued memorizing Psalm 121 this week, adding verses 4 and 5.

You can download the Bible Verse Tracer Pack for FREE here at our TPT Store.

On Monday, Parker traced the Bible verses while listening to his Sing the Word track.

On Tuesday, he illustrated the verses while listening to his Sing the Word track.

On Wednesday, we cut apart his verse and he glued it together, like a puzzle, in his Bible notebook. On Thursday, he was able to recite the first five verses by heart.
Poem:
Parker continued memorizing Windy City by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Parker read and practiced his poem every day this week.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Grammar Grab Bag:
I created a Wonderful Weather Grammar Grab Bag #27 GGB) for Parker’s Language Arts activities.

You can purchase your copy here at our TPT Store.
Spelling:
I printed Parker’s spelling cards and worksheet (in GGB) and added them to his RED Monday folder.

On Monday, We cut apart his cards and he used them to practice writing his spelling words.

On Tuesday, Parker used his cards again to complete his Fun Facts spelling worksheet.
Antonyms:
I cut out the Rainy Days Antonym cards (in GGB) and placed them on the sliding glass doors.

The boys scoured the room in search of the matching rainbow word cards.
Afterwards, the boys matched and colored their antonym worksheets.
SCIENCE:
Barometer:

I set out the supplies needed to create our barometer.

We put our barometer together and set it on the shelf. We’ll have to check it during different weather conditions.
JUST FOR FUN:
100th Day of School:
I made a special breakfast for the kids and printed a “100 Days Brighter” hats.

We read Celebrations in My World – 100th Day of School on our Epic app.
The kids colored their hats while I read aloud.

I can’t believe we’re 100 days into the year. My second grader is getting SO big! Where do the years go?
It’s tradition to celebrate our 100th Day with a special 100th snack! The kids sorted, tallied, and counted to make sure they had 200 things in their snack!

I read Tally O’Malley while the kids munched on their snack! Only nine more weeks left!
