Trees & Leaves:
Though this topic was listed as fine arts, we decided to explore it further as a science unit.

First, Jordan perused through leaves and trees from Julia Rothman’s Nature Anatomy book.

The next day, he read Why Do Leaves Change Color? to review photosynthesis and how the “red, orange and yellow colors” are revealed as the leaves produce less chlorophyl during the colder days of autumn.
Bird’s Eggs:

We read A Nest Full of Eggs, which illustrated the beautiful “robin blue” and showed how the American Robin develops.
FINE ARTS:
Collections:
We talked about things we collect and Legos was at the top of the list.
