NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN (HARDLY)
BIBLE:
Bible Verse:

Jordan memorized Hebrews 13:2 while rowing the this chapter.
Bible Supplement:

As suggested in the manual, we read Papa Panov’s Special Day and Always room for One More.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
History – Political Parties:

In addition to reading the FIAR manual, we perused through Fireworks, Picnics, and Flags. We read many little patriotic snippets from this book.
Career Path – Law Enforcement:

Jordan read Emergency by Gail Gibbons. This was a great book to cover several occupations listed under law enforcement and first responders.
LIFE SKILLS:
Making a Good Appearance:
In addition to reading about making a good appearance, I added a science element from our Ultimate Body-Pedia book.
It was a refresher course on heathy habits, especially during the teen years.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Famous Sayings – A New Phrase To Learn:
After discussing “Blue Plate Specials”, I challenged Jordan to create a menu item for each day of the week. He loved this idea and went right to work.
Washington Irving and “Rip Van Winkle”:
This week, I assigned Rip Van Winkle as a part of Jordan’s daily reading.
Writing and Discussion Question:
As with our other chapters, Jordan responded to the discussion question in his FIAR notebook.
