Parker read The Story of Gandhi by Susan B. Katz.

History – World Religions – Hinduism:

Parker was reading various missionary stories. I thought it might be nice to watch the William Carey Torchilighter episode. I also added this episode to our Hitty Playlist.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Writing & Discussion Question:

Parker answered this chapter’s writing and discussion question in his FIAR notebook.

Vocabulary Words:

Parker completed the vocabulary worksheet for this chapter.

Sensory Descriptions:

Parker completed a sensory descriptions language arts worksheet from our Hitty Grab Bag.

Sea Journal – Finishing Up:

Parker completed his sea journal by adding the last vocabulary words from this chapter.

SCIENCE:

Cobras:

First, Parker read Nature’s Deadliest The King Cobra on our EPIC app.

Afterwards, he completed a Parts of the Cobra worksheet from our Hitty Grab Bag.

In addition, I thought it would be fun to have him read Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling.

FINE ARTS:

Cooking – Curried Rice:

Parker followed the recipe in the FIAR manual for the curried rice. To make it a complete Indian meal, he made curry chicken using a jarred curry sauce.

PROJECTS:

Research Project:

Parker continued to read about coral reefs, gleaning information to add to his research project. This week, he read The Great Barrier Reef by Helen Scales. He also completed a Parts of the Coral Polyp worksheet from our Hitty Grab Bag.

Service Project:

Parker continued to collect bottles and cans to raise money for Operation Christmas Child this year. His friends also added to his collection. They all enjoy helping with Operation Christmas Child at our church.
