In addition to reading from the FIAR manual, Jordan read Susan B. Anthony Her Fight to Save Women’s Rights.

Career Path – Landscape Artist:

I added a Landscape Design clip to our Homer Price playlist.

Jordan read A Green Place to Be, which was a wonderful picture book about the creation of Central Park.

Afterwards, I challenged Jordan to create a backyard landscape design on his Minecraft world. He did a fantastic job designing it.

Jordan completed his vocabulary sheet then we reviewed it together.

FINE ARTS:

Design and Make Your Own Checkerboard:

Though this was a unit about checkers, I decided to have Jordan use his new 3D printer to create a Chess piece.

He did an excellent job created a “queen” piece.

Whistler’s Mother and James Abbott McNeill Whistler:

We read about James Abbott McNeill Whister in Usborne The Children’s Book of Art.
