BIBLE:

Memory Verse:

Jordan memorized Colossians 3:23 for this chapter.

Character Study:

We continued to read through our chapter lessons in the FIAR Bible and Character Supplement.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

History – Adolph Hitler:

In addition to reading about Adolph Hitler in the FIAR guide, I added a holocaust clip in our The Saturdays playlist.

A Job for Each & Each Job Done Well:

Our kids each have chores that they are responsible for. In addition, my husband gives them opportunities to add chores that they can do for an allowance. In this controlled setting, they can learn the value and responsibility that comes from working and earning wages. Laying down the principles early may hopefully create a good work ethic when they enter the work force.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Writing & Discussion Question:

Jordan answered the discussion question in his FIAR notebook.

Vocabulary:

Jordan completed the vocabulary worksheet I created for this chapter.

SCIENCE:

Acid & Neutralization:

I bought litmus paper and created a worksheet for J Jordan to conduct an acid test on different items around the house.

FINE ARTS:

Music History – Bach:

Jordan listened to a few pieces by Bach.

We also remembered “My First Classical Music App” on our ipad.

Music History – Tchaikovsky:

In addition to listening to Tchaikovsky’s pieces, we found a page about him on our app.

Pen & Ink Drawing:

Jordan used one of his gel pens to create his own cartoon drawings.

Clay Art:

Using a non-hardening clay, we rolled it into a rope, coiled it and shaped it into a bowl. Jordan has seen this process before, but we went through the steps together.
