BIBLE:

Memory Verse:

Jordan memorized Exodus 20:12 for this chapter. He added it in his FIAR notebook.

Character Study:

We continued to read through our chapter lessons in the FIAR Bible and Character Supplement.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

History – Benjamin Franklin & Bifocals:

Our old optometrist had an old pair of bifocals on display that dated back to early america. Jordan loved seeing them in person.

Geography – Paris, France:

Jordan used a map of France to mark all the locations mentioned in his lesson.

Enjoying the Companionship of Elderly People:

Bub has always enjoyed the company of elderly people. When he was a toddler, he would walk up to another kid’s grandpa and want to join in on whatever game they were playing. He’s still that same friendly kid today.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Writing & Discussion Question:

Jordan answered the discussion question in his FIAR notebook.

Vocabulary:

Jordan completed his vocabulary worksheet for this chapter.

SCIENCE:

Amber:

I added an interesting clip about amber to our The Saturdays playlist.

Coatimundis:

We added a clip about coatimundis on our The Saturdays playlist.

Camels:

Jordan read about camels in the National Geographic Encyclopedia of Animals.

FINE ARTS:

Galleries – What They Hold and How to Enjoy Them:

Jordan perused through the Usborne Children’s Book of Art.

Cooking – Petits Fours:

We made petit fours when the kids were really young. I know Jordan wants to make them again, but everyone was fighting the bug d’jour.

Since it would be a while before Bub could make petit fours, I bought a few from a local bakery.
