MOVING PICTURES
BIBLE:
Memory Verse:

Jordan memorized Matthew 19:19 for this chapter. He copied it in his FIAR notebook.
Character Study:

We continued to read through our chapter lessons in the FIAR Bible and Character Supplement.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
History – The Wild West Shows:

Bub read about the wild west in Everything You Need to Ace American History in One Big Fat Notebook.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Writing & Discussion Question:

Bub answered his discussion question in his FIAR manual.
SCIENCE:
Electricity:

Since Bub was a toddler, he’s been fascinated by electricity. We quickly realized buying kits would be a safer way to feed his curiosity after he tried sticking something in an electrical socket.

He’s built up a collection of electrical kits, as well as electrical supplies that he uses for many of his DIY projects.
FINE ARTS:
Paper Dolls – Classic Accordion:

As we talked about accordion dolls, I made a simplistic version – connecting the hands and feet.

Then Bub made his own version.
Moving Pictures – A Flip Book:
I remember learning about stop motion with my fourth grade teacher, Miss Palmeri. The idea was to capture movement, frame by frame – using still photography. Then you’d slice it together to create a mini moving picture show. It was a really fun project. We also learned how to create a moving picture with a flip book.

Bub has created flip books MANY times before. Instead of doing his math work, I would find him doodling – much like Tom.
Here’s a small flip book he made while studying this unit.
Tom’s Dream – Your Own Movie:
Jordan and his siblings have made many mini movies using a stop motion app their father gave them.

They pitch in to create the stage, props, and scripts. Then they shoot the film, add voice-over and finally they edit their movie and play it for the family .
