BIBLE:

FIAR Bible Supplement:

We split up the FIAR Bible lessons for Chapter 1 over two days – one about marriage snd the other about family.

Bible Verse:

We chose to memorize Hebrews 12:6 as our Bible verse for this chapter.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

Geography – North Atlantic:

Parker read Discover the Oceans Atlantic Oceans.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Writing & Discussion Question:

Parker answered the discussion question in his FIAR notebook.

Vocabulary Words:

Parker completed the vocabulary worksheet for chapter two.

SCIENCE:

Fog:

Parker read about fog and weather near the ocean in DK Eye Wonder Weather.

He also read Hide and Seek Fog by Alvin Tresselt.

We read Tomie de Paola’s The Cloud Book just for fun. We payed close attention to the pages about fog. I can relate to the walking “in a fog” cloud.

Parker added the four types of fog under “Weather” in his ocean notebook.

Whales:

Parker also read Whales by Gail Gibbons.

He sketched and used watercolor to pain a whale for his ocean notebook.

Seals:

Parker also read about sea lions and seals in Julia Rothman’s Ocean Anatomy book.

We read About Marine Animals together. It was very basic, but it covered the two ocean mammals we focused on this week.

Afterwards, Parker sketched and painted a seal in his ocean notebook.

FINE ARTS:

Illustrating Envelopes:

Parker decorated an envelope for his personal letter assignment from chapter one.

Colors of the Sea:

Parker used colored pencils and crayons to create a “colors of the sea” page in his FIAR art notebook.
