Parker read both the scripture and the lesson material for this chapter, from the FIAR Bible Supplement Guide.
Bible Verse:
Parker wrote and memorized Ephesians 2:7 as his Bible verse for this chapter.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
Geography – Bavaria:
Parker read Germany by Susan Hoskins Miller on our EPIC app.
Afterwards, he marked Bavaria, Munich and Nuremberg on our World Map (Beautiful Feet Books).
To make this unit extra sweet, we munched on some gingerbread treats we bought from Trader Joes around Christmas. We enjoyed the Lebkuchen cookies, but the Gingerbread Ice Cream Sandwiches were the winner.

Writing & Discussion Question:
Parker answered this chapter’s writing and discussion question in his FIAR notebook.
SCIENCE:
Periodic Table of Elements:
Parker has been studying the Periodic Table of Elements all year. It seems fitting that he should study the life of Marie Curie. He completed his Blackbird & Company Elemental Science Research Journal.
For this unit, Parker did a review by reading Introducing the Periodic Table by Reagan Miller and Tom Jackson on our EPIC app.
Afterwards, I created an Actinides Bingo game that’s available in our Grab Bag.

I started creating a GRAB BAG for Marie Curie and the Discovery of Radium Chapter Book Unit. The Grab Bag series is a collection of worksheets and/or activities that I create while studying the FIAR Chapter Book units with my children. I will post it as soon as it’s available for purchase.
