Memory Verse:
I printed the third verse from our Psalm 42 Bible memory verse pack.

On Monday, the boys traced their Bible verse. I forgot to include the 4th verse this week. We’ll have to catch up next week.

On Wednesday, they cut and pasted their verse in their Bible notebook.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
This week we learned about the Shoshone tribe

Parker used legos to mark the Shoshone states on our US map.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
5th Grade:
This week we reviewed more nouns in Jordan’s grammar notebook..

We reviewed possessive nouns and nouns of direct address.
3rd Grade:
Grammar Grab Bag:
I created a Growing a Garden themed Grammar Grab Bag (GGB) for this week’s language arts activities.

Spelling:
I brought out his spelling cards, letter tiles and spelling mat (in GGB).

First, Parker practiced forming spelling words.

Next, I asked Parker to categorize his spelling words by syllable and also alphabetizing them.

On Tuesday, Parker completed his word search (in GGB).
100 Days Celebration:
Parker reminded me that we didn’t celebrate our 100th day of school. Since he was making a flyer for creative writing, we planned and marketed our 100th Day party!

Parker colored his flyer, using a small poster board. Then he wrote the details of the party (when, where, etc.)
Adding Commas:
This week we reviewed commas.

Parker completed his Green Thumb Garden Plan worksheet (in GGB).
MATH:
5th Grade Math Lapbook:

We updated Jordan’s math notebook with all the terms and facts he learned about in his Geometry lesson.
SCIENCE:
Plant Cells:
This week Parker continued his biology lessons learning about cells.
I brought out Parker’s lego tray and he built a small cell factory with the help of his big sister.
Living Things Kingdoms:
We brought out our Living Things and The Kingdoms booklet.
