Spelling:
I printed Parker’s spelling cards, letter tiles, spelling mat, and spelling worksheets (in GGB).

First, Parker read this week’s spelling rule.

Next, he thought of a word using this week’s rule and built it on his spelling mat.

Next, Parker sorted the spelling words by letter combination.

Lastly, he practiced writing his spelling words.

On Tuesday, Parker used his spelling cards to complete his spelling sentences.
Antonyms & Synonyms:
I printed, cut-out, and prepared our Homophone & Homonym worksheets (in GGB).

First, we reviewed the difference between antonyms and synonyms. Then Parker sorted through the stack of word cards.

Afterwards, he color-coded the coordinating Grammar Garden worksheet.
Fact & Opinion:

We reviewed facts and opinions. Afterwards, Parker completed the coordinating Grammar Garden worksheet.
Grammar Ace:
The page layout was inspired by our new FIAR book unit, Arabella Since we were studying the ocean, I created a sea creature themed layout.

I set out the elements for our “More Verbs” page layout.

First, Parker added the title with our alphabet stickers.

Next, Parker used dot paints to create an underwater background.

Then he matched the sea creature terms with the “in a nutshell” definitions.

This week’s page layout was swimming with life!
SCIENCE:
Crystal Geodes:

I thought it would be fun to grow crystals since we were learning about them in science. Parker and I opened our Crystal Geode kit.

Parker and I mixed the ingredients and heated it over the stove. After it dissolved, we set it aside for a couple of days.
