“THE VISIT”
BIBLE:
Character Lessons:

Jordan continued reading through the FIAR Bible and character lessons. We split up any remaining scripture verses over the rest of the week. I try to give him a “daily Bible bite” to accompany his assigned scripture verses.
Memory Verse:

Jordan memorized Proverbs 3:7-8 while rowing this chapter.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
Benjamin Franklin:

In addition to reading the teacher’s manual about Benjamin Franklin, Jordan read Ben Franklin and the Magic Squares.
Philadelphia:

Jordan read about Philadelphia in our States book.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Famous Sayings:
As we discussed Benjamin Franklin, I asked Jordan what his favorite saying was. He said, “Haste makes waste.”
A Day with Ben Franklin:
Jordan is our resident DIYer, so he said he would LOVE to hang out with Ben Franklin. His personal choice would be to invent things with him. What a beautiful discussion question. Have I mentioned how much I love this program?

Since Jordan was learning about Ben Franklin, I had him read Who Was Ben Franklin? as his daily reader.
SCIENCE:
Farmer’s Almanac:

I brought out The Old Farmers Almanac for Kids so that Jordan could look through the pages to see the type of information it contained.
Liberty Bell:

I printed a great article about the Liberty Bell (Britannica Kids) and created a Periodic Table of Elements hunt in Jordan’s FIAR notebook.

Bub always enjoys an elemental activity!
