“THE SAMPLER”
BIBLE:
Character Lessons:

Jordan continued reading through the FIAR Bible and character lessons. We split up any remaining scripture verses over the rest of the week. I try to give him a “daily Bible bite” to accompany his assigned scripture verses.
Memory Verse:

I assigned Matthew 2:2 as Jordan’s memory verse while rowing this chapter. I broke up the second chapter of Matthew for Bible this week. We payed close attention to the obedience of the wisemen and Joseph.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Writing and Discussion Question:
Since Jordan is a DIYer, he’s always planning his next project. There have been projects that lasted months. I love his spirit of his tenacity and pray that he allows God to channel it in the right direction.
FINE ARTS:
Making a Five-Pointed Star:

Following the example in the book, Jordan and I attempted to make a 5-point star our of Origami paper. the snipping revealed we were slightly off. Hmmm….we’ll have try again later.
The Creative Process:

As a DIYer, Jordan is always most critical of his own work. He hones his craft while patiently reworking a project until it meets his satisfaction. Each failed attempt or lesser variation teaches him “what not to do” as he learns patience and perseverance.
SCIENCE:
Why Do Stars Appear to Twinkle:

In addition to reading why stars twinkle in the FIAR manual, I assigned a few pages of Find the Constellations.

I cut little black construction paper squares for Bub to create constellations. He used metallic pens to draw each constellation as he read about it. I’ll continue using this as an extra science unit until he finishes the book.
