Memory Verse:

I created a Bible verse printable for Matthew 5:1-16.

On Monday, Parker traced the next two verses.

He glued it in his notebook on Tuesday and recited it at the end of the week.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

This week, we began our study of the Pacific Islands. I created an Oceans and Continents Around the World worksheet for our growing bundle.

The Pacific Islands:

I thought we would begin our study of the Pacific islands by reviewing the seven continents and five oceans.

The Seven Continents:

I brought out our Montessori world puzzle and had Parker identify and label the seven continents.

He color coded them on our Oceans and Continents Around the World worksheet from our growing bundle.

Parker opened Montessori ocean puzzle and assembled it. I brought out our world ocean lapbook and gave Parker the labels to find and label each ocean.

Afterwards, I had him color code the oceans around the world as well.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Reading:

I decided to finish both Pippi Longstocking and The Night Journey. We started both books earlier and had to set them aside. I wanted to wrap them up before starting a new read-aloud.

Book Study:

This week, we continued studying Grandpa Green. Many of the books we read were relevant to our history and book study.

We read more about seeds, gardens and beneficial bugs.

MATH:

Calendar Work:

Parker helped me change our calendar for May.

Afterwards, he completed his May calendar worksheet.

I read our May poem from A Child’s Calendar.
