Sonlight Level F (Week 33)

BIBLE:

Memory Verse:

I created a Bible verse printable for Matthew 5:1-16.

You can download your FREE copy here at our TPT Store.

On Monday, Parker traced the next two verses and glued it in his notebook on Tuesday.

On Thursday, he recited the first 10 verses by heart.

Full Armor of God:

We’ve really enjoyed reading Tony Evan’s A Kid’s Guide to the Armor of God. This week, we completed our study of the full armor of God.

This week we completed our study by reading through the final chapter on victory. We really enjoyed our Bible time using this fantastic guide.

Parker completed his picture mapping with a word art “Victory” added at the bottom.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

This week, we finalized our study on New Zealand.

You can purchase the growing bundle here at our TPT Store.

New Zealand:

Parker wrapped up his New Zealand country report worksheet from our growing bundle.

This week, we also caught up on our Usborne Picture Atlas of the World stickers and added those for Oceana.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Reading:

I decided to read The Family Under the Bridge since it was set in Paris, pairing perfectly with Grandpa Green.

Book Study:

This week, we completed our study of Grandpa Green. Many of the books we read were relevant to our history and book study.

We read more about seeds and gardens.

SCIENCE:

Food & Nutrition:

We continued to catch up on the experiments from our Food and Nutrition for Every Kid.

Ch 15 – Salty:

I created a worksheet page in Parker’s Science notebook.

We followed the directions in our book and set a timer to check on our lettuce after 30 minutes.

Quickly, he realized the difference between the two lettuce samples. The lettuce in water was crisp while the lettuce in saltwater was limp. He jotted down his findings and we reviewed the “why” together.
