First Grade – Preschool

SOCIAL STUDIES – Intro to World History I (Core B):

Haley will be going into the first grade in the fall. This school year, we chose the Sonlight Core B package. This curriculum includes Bible, Social Studies, Language Arts and Science. This will be Jordan’s last year in preschool. We’re continue monthly themes with his best buddy, Spence. His days will continue to be filled with outdoor exploring, tactile learning activities and indoor play while listening to his big sister’s read-alouds. We’re looking forward to continuing our learning journey together as a family.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Reading:

Haley will use the Core B language arts for spelling and grammar lessons.

She will also use the Core B readers as well as other books on hand.

Handwriting without Tears:

In addition to the grammar components of the Core B program, Haley will be using HWOT (Handwriting without Tears) Level 1.

Math:

Horizon Math:

We decided to continue using Horizon Math for first grade. As with Core A, Horizon Math is the curriculum included in the “All Subjects” package.

SCIENCE:

Haley will be using Sonlight’s first grade science program included in the Core B pack.
