Kindergarten – Preschool

ALL SUBJECTS PACKAGE:

SOCIAL STUDIES – Intro to the World – Cultures (Core A):

Haley is six years old and will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. After much prayer and deliberation, we chose the Sonlight Core A package. This curriculum includes Bible, Social Studies, Language Arts and Science. Since Jordan is only four, he will be in preschool. We’re planning monthly themes with his best buddy, Spence. His days will be filled with outdoor exploring, tactile learning activities and indoor play while listening to read-alouds. You might even spot him participating in some fun hands-on activities. We’re looking forward to starting our learning journey together as a family.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Phonics, Spelling & Grammar:

Haley will be learning phonics, spelling and grammar using the Core A program.

Handwriting without Tears:

In addition to the grammar components of the Core A program, Haley will be using the HWOT (Handwriting without Tears) program to help her learn correct letter formation.

Reading:

Since Haley is already an avid reader, we decided not to use the Kindergarten readers. Instead, she will continue to read her level 3 readers and early chapter books.

Math:

Horizon Math:

We decided to use Horizon Math for Kindergarten. Horizon Math is the curriculum included in the “All Subjects” package.

SCIENCE:

Haley will be using Sonlight’s Kindergarten science program included in the Core A pack.
