A Famous Homer:

We read about Homer and the Trojan War in Hillyer’s History of the World.

Highways and Roads of America:

After reading about interstate highways, Jordanadded some interstate highways to our U.S. map using our State Farm booklet as a guide.

We also kept note of all the interstate signs on our trip to southern California.

Tourist Camps & Motels:

Jordan created his own motel with a lobby and eatery.

Early Roots of Radio & Television:

I added some clips to our Homer Price playlist.

We watched the famous Abbot and Costello’s “Who’s on First” skit.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Vocabulary:

I created vocabulary worksheets for Homer Price.

Jordan completed his chapter 1 vocabulary worksheet and glued it into his FIAR notebook.

Headlines – Making Them True and Believable:

We didn’t have a newspaper on hand, so Jordan perused through his digital newsfeed, checking headlines.

First, Jordan read about the pulley in Simple Machines.

Next, he used one of his building sets to construct a simple pulley sytem.
