Memory Verse:

Jordan did not memorize a verse got the thirteenth chapter. He copied it in his FIAR notebook. 

Character Study:

We continued to read through our chapter lessons in the FIAR Bible and Character Supplement.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

History – The Railway Post Office System:

We read excerpts from Hooray for Inventors about steam engines and the efforts of Richard Trevithick and George Stephenson.

We read The Post Office Book by Gail Gibbons.

Life Skills – Problem Solving:

Jordan is like his Dad. If they have a problem, they keep trying until they figure it out.

He applies this skill to his 3D prints, cooking, science experiments and DIY projects.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Writing and Discussion Question:

Jordan answered his discussion question in his FIAR notebook.

Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles:

Jordan read quite a few of Sherlock holm’s stories, but not The Hound of the Baskervilles.

I almost forgot that his aunt bought the Playmobil version.

SCIENCE:

A New Element – Phosphorus:

I bought Our World in Pictures – The Elements. It’s both beautiful and informative

I created another elemental worksheet for Bub to complete.

He always enjoys activities about elements. It’s like a treasure hunt.
