FIAR Bible Supplement:

Parker read the FIAR Bible lessons for this Chapter from the FIAR Bible Supplement.

Bible Verse:

For this chapter, Parker wrote and memorized Psalm 19:1.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

History – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr: “I Have a Dream”:

Parker recently completed his research paper on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This was part of his Black Bird & Company LA program.

After each research project, he picks a project to complete. He chose to make a portrait out of Perler Beads. He did a fantastic job!

First, Parker read A Picture Book of Martin Luther King Jr. by David Adler.

To finish off this unit, we listened to his “I Have a Dream Speech” noticing the tones and inflections in his voice, similar to those used in sermons he would preach at church.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Writing & Discussion Question:

Parker answered this chapter’s discussion question in his FIAR Notebook.

SCIENCE:

Sweet Potato & Peanuts:

After reading about all the uses and products Dr. Carver discovered, Parker took some time to study the mighty peanut.

First, he read The Life and Times of the Peanut by Charles Micucci.

Afterwards, he read How Is It Made? Peanut Butter on our Epic app.

Lastly, he completed the peanut worksheets from our Grab Bag.

Genealogy:

On the days we didn’t have a FIAR science unit, Parker continued reading from the National Geographic Kids Guide to Genealogy book.
