BIBLE:

FIAR Bible Supplement:

Parker read both the scripture and lesson material for this chapter, using the FIAR Bible Supplement Guide.

On other days, he continued reading and studying Bible lessons with his Power of Words book.

Bible Verse:

Parker wrote and memorized I Kings 17:14 as his Bible verse for this chapter.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

History- Hauling Water:

Parker read The Prairie Fire.

Afterwards, he watched prairie fire clips on our Skylark playlist.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Writing & Discussion Question:

Parker responded to the writing and discussion question in his FIAR Notebook.

Analogies:

Parker watched the clips about analogies in our Skylark playlist.

Imagery:

Parker watched the clips about imagery in our Skylark playlist.

Read-Aloud:

Mary Emma & Company is our current read-aloud. We’re reading in-between Parker’s independent studies.

Vocabulary:

Parker completed the chapter 7-8 vocabulary worksheet from our Skylark Grab Bag.

FINE ARTS:

Making Biscuits:

Parker is not a huge fan of making biscuits; however, I found a sweet butter swim recipe I think he may like.

I picked two Honeycrisp apples from our tree. I washed, peeled and chopped the apples. I sautéed them in butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.

We mixed our wet and dry ingredients then folded in our apple mixture while the butter melted and browned in the oven. Then we added our biscuit dough, scored it and baked it in the oven.

After taking it out of the oven, we added our cream cheese drizzle.

OTHER FUN STUFF:

Fall Party:

Haley and I grabbed a few of our favorite festive snacks for our annual fall party. As the kids get older and their time is devoted to more in-depth-studies, we have to carve away time for special moments like this. They come to expect and appreciate it every year. ❤️
