We celebrated Memorial Day on Monday, so this was a shortened school week.
BIBLE:
Memory Verse:
I printed verses 9 and 10 for the boys to trace and illustrate this week.

You can download the Psalm 42 Bible Verse pack at our TPT Store.

The boys traced their verses on Tuesday. We practiced them together every day. We continued to practice the entire Psalm, strengthening weak parts.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
5th Grammar:

This week we reviewed “More Verbs” in our Grammar Ace notebook.
3rd Grade Grammar:
Grammar Grab Bag (GGB):
I created a Fun in the Sun Grammar Grab Bag (GGB) for this week’s language arts activities.

You can purchase your copy here at our TPT Store.
Spelling:
I brought out the spelling cards, letter tiles, and spelling mat (in GGB).
First, we spent time building words with his spelling mat.

Afterwards, he used his spelling word cards to complete the Scavenger Hunt worksheet (in GGB).

The following day, he completed the spelling word search (in GGB).
Apostrophes:
This week we reviewed the use of apostrophes in contractions and to show possession.

Reading:
After reviewing apostrophes together, Parker completed the Grammar by the Sea worksheet (in GGB).
We read more wonderful ocean themed books from our summer reading shelf.
SCIENCE:
Protist Art:

Parker added a few final touches to his protist art project.
TOPs Update:
I thought I would give you an update on Parker’s TOPs plants.
I just believe how big his radishes are. He has four thriving corn plants too! Can’t wait to taste them in the fall!
JUST FOR FUN:
Memorial Day:
Jordan and I read Veterans Heroes in Our Neighborhood. Over the holiday weekend, we enjoyed patriotic pancakes and English muffins!
Patriotic Shortbread:

The patriotic food continued after picking fresh berries from the garden.

Parks and I cuddled on the couch reading Cook-A-Doodle-Doo!
Parks and I measured and mixed our shortbread.

It was golden and smelled heavenly. It may not look like much right now, but just you wait….

NOW our shortbread is all dressed up and looking pretty (delicious!)!
