BIBLE:
Memory Verse:
I printed verses five and six for the boys this week.

The boys traced their verses on Monday and practiced them the rest of the week.
LANGUAGE ARTS:
Grammar:
I created a Fall is in the Air Grammar Grab Bag for this week’s language arts activities.

You can purchase your copy here at our TPT Store.
Spelling:
I set out spelling cards, letter tiles, and the spelling mat (in the GGB).

First, Parker read this week’s spelling rule.

Next, he used his letter tiles to build a word based in the rule.

Afterwards, he used his spelling cards to practice writing his spelling words.
Fall Tree Word Families:
I set out his Fall Trees Word Family matching activity on Learning Lane.

Parker read each leaf word and placed it on the matching word family.
Grammar Ace:
This week, we were studying Fry Bread, a Native American heritage book. I chose to use this as our notebook layout.

I set out all the components for our Antonym and Synonym layout.

Parker added title using the stickers I laid out.

Next, he matched the “In a nutshell” terms to their corresponding definitions.

Then he read the words on each fry bread and sorted them as either a “synonym” of an “antonym”.

Thus week’s layout was festive and fitting as we read about the first Thanksgiving and Native American culture.
Reading:
I updated our reading shelf with Thanksgiving books.

I’m planning on keeping them until the end of November.

We read several books during the week and throughout the holiday.
MATH:
Calendar:
We were late in the month, but I had the kids complete their November worksheets.

The kids added the numbers, birthdays, and holidays.
SCIENCE:
Tops:

The boys caught up on their last two experiments. They really enjoyed using their solenoid.
JUST FOR FUN:
Thanksgiving:

We surprised the kids with turkey squish mallows.

The night before, Bub and I made home-made cranberry sauce.

The table was set for a fancy Thanksgiving. Can you see evidence of little “mice” nibbling away at the pie crust? 😉

The kids dressed up for our thanksgiving at home. They were so adorable!

Bub whipped up some of his Chantilly cream to have with pies.

After dessert, we played a few rounds of bingo. I love when we play games that aren’t electronic.

Later, we sat together and watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, a family favorite. My absolute favorite part was the kids reciting Psalm 103 by heart. ❤️
