“THE NEW SCHOOL”

BIBLE:

Character Lessons:

Jordan continued reading through the FIAR Bible and character lessons. We split up any remaining scripture verses over the rest of the week. I try to give him a “daily Bible bite” to accompany his assigned scripture verses.

Memory Verse:

Jordan memorized Psalm 139:5 while rowing this chapter.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

Vocabulary:

Jordan read about the two old-fashioned words, “fie” and “ail”, in the teacher’s manual.

Jordan completed his vocabulary worksheet for this chapter. Afterwards, we added it in his Bible notebook.

Writing and Discussion Question:

Jordan and I talked about Betsy and Susannah’s debate. We agreed that both doing things well and doing things we enjoy play into the “why we do things well” discussion.

SCIENCE:

Winter/Summer Solstice & Vernal/Autumnal Equinox:

This was a fun science unit that filled up our entire week.

Jordan read about each of the solstices and equinoxes. He covered one unit each day.
