Bible Verse Tracer:

I created a Psalm 1 Tracer Pack for Parker to use.

Parker listened to his Sing the Word song while working on his tracer.

The following day he illustrated his verse.

Language Arts:

Grammar Lesson:

First we read The Apple Pie that Papa Baked.  We talked about the adjectives in the book and how they are used to describe things.

Afterwards, we talked about similes describing two unrelated things using the words like or as.

Fall Similes:

I created a Fall Similes pack for the boys to work on this week.

I instructed the kids to think of colors that remind them of fall.  They brought out their big box of crayons and colored the leaves.

Next, I asked them to think of words that remind them of fall.

All three kids loved this activity, especially Haley. She always adds sweetness to our learning activities ❤️.

Last, I had them use their colors and words to help them create fall similes.

Rhymes:

Roll-a-Rhyme:

I printed a copy of our Autumn Rhyme Cards (Long Vowel) and put them in our educational cubes

We always love this game. It gets everyone moving AND thinking!

Sheep in a Jeep:

We started our lesson on rhyming words by reading Sheep in a Jeep.

We identified all the rhyming pairs while reading through the story.

I created a Jeep & Sheep Rhyme Pack for the boys to work on.

I Can Read It:

I created another Farm-themed Roll, Read, & Cover Worksheet for Parker to work on.

We worked on the worksheets Monday and Tuesday.

Fall Phonics:

I created a Fall Phonics worksheet for Parker to practice ending sounds.

Math:

We worked on telling time and math facts this week.

Apple Picking Time:

I created a small apple-themed math pack for Parker to work on telling time by five minute intervals.

First, we brought out our teaching clock to review clock hands, hours, minutes, and skip counting by five.  After our lesson he worked on the printable.

Math Apple & Bushel Fun:

I created an Apple themed Doubles Math Pack for Parker.

First he matched the apple answer cards to the bushel equations.

Afterwards, I gave him a matching doubles worksheet to work on.  He did a great job!

Science:

We read about animal habitats this week.

The boys worked on an animal home match activity (The Mailbox) using dot paints.

I drew a farm scene with the animal homes glued to the background.  The following day the boys matched the animals to their homes.

A Visit to the Zoo:

We took the kids to the local zoo with a group of our homeschool friends.

It was fun to be able to see many of the animals we’ve learned about recently.

This was a VERY busy week for us, but we made it through and managed to squeeze in quite a bit of fun activities.
