SOCIAL STUDIES:

Reviewing the Eastern Hemisphere:

My husband bought me this beautiful Montessori wood flag set. I brought it out so we could review the countries we’ve studied so far this year.

Using our World Atlas, Parker located the countries we’ve studied and matched each available flag.

Southeast Asia:

We continued our study of the Eastern Hemisphere reading about Southeast Asia.

Vietnam:

I created a Country Study printable for each country we’ve studied, including Vietnam.

Eyes & Ears:

We continued reading about the eyes and ears. We covered two of our five senses.

Sense of Smell:

We also caught up on our sense of smell with a fun Christmas science experiment.

First, we read The Sweet Smell of Christmas. I printed a copy of our experiment recording sheet.

Parker closed his eyes, smelled each sample, and recorded his guess. Afterwards, we reviewed whether he was right or wrong.

JUST FOR FUN:

Anniversary Surprise:

After a long first day back from winter break, my husband’s parent sent us a beautiful dinner for our anniversary.

The boys sent us upstairs to “rest” until “our dinner reservation” was ready. They dressed up and were our waiters for the evening. They texted us when our table was ready.

They made us a delicious cake too! They brought us to tears. It was so special that they went out of their way to make our anniversary special.
